Law enforcement officials have firmly rejected this claim, insisting the Rizvi brothers are hiding somewhere in Azad Jammu and Kashmir of their own accord.

According to senior officials, the two men fled on the same night Punjab Police launched an early morning operation in Muridke to dismantle a TLP protest camp set up along the G.T. Road. They were last spotted leaving the camp on foot before making their escape on a motorcycle.

A senior law enforcement officer spoke on the matter with certainty, stating that neither brother is in the custody of any security agency and that they are believed to be sheltered by a loyalist of the outlawed organisation somewhere in the mountainous terrain of AJK.

Following the viral social media statement, a senior Punjab official was tasked with reaching out to federal authorities to verify whether the TLP leaders were being held anywhere. The federal response confirmed that they were not in state custody.

The Rizvi brothers are now considered high-profile fugitives, facing serious charges across multiple cases. Authorities confirmed that 44 FIRs have been registered against them in Sheikhupura and a further 11 in Lahore, with offences ranging from incitement to violence to anti-terrorism charges. They are accused of allegedly directing TLP workers to attack law enforcement personnel, damage government vehicles and property. An SHO was killed and dozens of officers were injured during repeated clashes involving TLP workers in Lahore and Sheikhupura.

One of the major obstacles to tracking the brothers down, officials say, is their deliberate avoidance of all electronic devices and communication tools — making conventional surveillance and geo-tracking methods largely ineffective.

In a parallel development, the Federal Investigation Agency moved to follow the money trail, identifying approximately 95 bank accounts believed to be linked to Saad Rizvi and opening an investigation into potential money laundering.

— Update: Following this report, Anas Rizvi was arrested by police in Dera Ismail Khan on January 24, 2026, where he had been sheltered at a private residence. The search for TLP chief Saad Rizvi continues.

Nearly three months after disappearing from public view, the whereabouts of Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Saad Hussain Rizvi and his brother Anas Rizvi remain unknown to law enforcement agencies, with officials admitting they have been unable to track down the two fugitive leaders despite extensive efforts.
